Noninvasive prenatal diagnosis (NIPD)
Noninvasive prenatal diagnosis mainly focuses on the isolation and examination of fetal cells circulating in the mother's blood and analysis of cell-free fetal DNA in maternal plasma.
Noninvasive prenatal diagnosis is a blood screening and genetic test that analyzes the cell-free fetal DNA to determine an unborn baby’s risk for birth defects, inherited diseases such as hemophilia, and genetic disorders such as Down syndrome. Noninvasive prenatal diagnosis is more accurate than the other similar screening tests and it also reveal the sex of a baby.
