The Roman government was still very influential to the Romans. The Romans established three types of government Monarchy, Republic, and Empire. Roman citizens were expected to play a role in the government. Although only men could vote, women still participated. They developed the Laws of the twelve tables which was the notion of equality. They often found themselves in warfare therefore leading them to rely greatly on their government to protect them and lead their military into victory. The government influenced the citizens in their daily lives including their religion.
