Let the width be x feet, then the length is x+ 3 and we have:-
x(x + 3) = 10
x^2 + 3x - 10 = 0
(x + 5)(x - 2) = 0
x = 2, -5 We ignore the -5 because width must be positive.
So the width is 2 and length is 2 + 3 = 5
and the perimeter = 2(5) + 2(2) = 14 feet answer
