I think it is easy to be overwhelmed when we see a problem with a lot of information displayed.
Think through what the goal of this problem is. Maggie knows that she spent 2 amounts that are not listed on the bank statement. This means she knows that she has less than the statement says that she does. (Bank errors always get corrected in the end. Don't count on them overlooking it.)
So all we have to do is look at the statement balance at the top (where it says balance but has no line item next to it). The balance is 120.16.
Now subtract 25.62 and 32.51.
62.03 is the corrected balance for the statement BUT we are asked to find the balance for October 26. So we need to add back in the last charge that falls after that date to find the Oct 26 balance.
62.03 + 50.13 = 112.16 is the balance on Oct 26.
