1) Boston Massacre- This event took place when American colonists were protesting about recent taxes put in place by the British government. This alteraction between the American colonists and tbe British soldiers resulted in violence, as British soldiers fired into a crowd of American colonists after they were hit with snowballs. 5 unarmed colonists were killed on this night. This helped spark the revolution, as many colonists perceived this as an event that showed that the British government and military did not care about the colonists.
2) Stamp Act- This law required colonists to pay a tax on all paper documents. After the colonists would pay a tax, they would receive a stamp from the British government. This caused uproar throughout the colonies, as the colonists had no representation in English parliament when this law was passed.
3) Tea Act- This law created a monopoly for the British East India Company and limited colonists to buying tea solely from this company. The colonists protested against this law by destroying over $1 million in British tea. This event was known as the Boston Tea Party. This encouraged revolution, as many colonists saw the central government as being tyrannical and too controlling.
