Dear King George III of Great Britain,
I am writing to you because I feel you have been abusing us, the colonists, with cruel and thoughtless acts. I write only after long thought about the many issues between us. Some issues and events of the last few years include extremely raising the taxes to us without consent or even a notice! Forcing us to let soldiers sleep in our house or barn and having us supply them, and your soldiers even shooting our own citizens to the point that 5 people died, and around 3 others were injured.
You see, in the American colonies, we believe that the purpose of government is to protect the citizens. Government should ______________________________. These ideas mean that people have some rights that cannot be taken away and are given to them naturally.
