The Puebloans or Pueblo people are Native Americans that inhabit the Southwestern United States and share common cultural practices. The Pueblo people developed planned villages composed of large terraced buildings made out of adobe by 1050. The largest of these villages, Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico, contained around 700 rooms in five stories; it may have housed as many as 1000 persons.
