This is the Associative Property of Multiplication

EXPLANATION

The Associative Property of Multiplication simply says that when you are multiplying any three numbers, it does not matter which pair you multiply first, you will always get the same result.

That means when you are given three real numbers,a,b and c to multiply a and b first and then multiply the result by c.

That is

[tex](a\times b)\times c[/tex]

Or you multiply b and c first and then multiply the result by a. That is;

[tex]a\times(b\times c)[/tex]

It is the same thing that is happening in the question.

On the Left Hand Side, the m and p multiplied first before the k. Then on the Right Hand Side, the k and m multiplied first before the p.
