1. The main source of employment was agriculture.
Before and after the colonies, for the people in the States working in the fields was still the principal way of making a living.
2. People didn´t have a main role in politics.
Other think that didn´t change was the fact that the common people wasn´t involved in the desicion making process towards building the coutry.
3. People were still taxed by the government.
One of the things that the farmers fuoght for was the fact that they were being heavily taxed by the British empire, after the independance, to form a new country they needed money, and the only way a country can make money it´s taxing its people.
The three ways in which the new state governments remained quite similar to the way they were governed as colonies were:
- Agriculture was still their major source of finance
- There was little involvement in politics by the people
- Taxes were still being collected.
The new state governments were in charge of taking control of the government after the colonial masters have given them their independence.
However, these changes did not come immediately as there were still some old ways that were still adhered to in order to first stabilize the government.
These changes were slowly replaced with more efficient methods as there was greater involvement in politics by the people and there were reduced tax rates which were beneficial to the people.
