taking the log3 of both sides:
[tex] log_{3}( {3}^{c} ) = log_{3}(27) [/tex]
[tex]c = 3[/tex]
the log on the left disappears because log3 looks for the exponent of 3 to get the number 3^c. this exponent is therefore c.
the log on the right disappears because 3^3=27. so we know that log3(27)=3
another way to write this is:
[tex] log_{3}(27) = c[/tex]
which gives you the same answer
