B. Mary Shelley's novel "Frankenstien" alludes to the creation of Adam and Eve. Victor Frankenstein, the creator of the monster, rebels against his destiny as a human, who is doomed to be mortal, and wishes to create a living man, just as God created Adam. Later in the work, the creature has realized that he will never be accepted by humans, and demands that Victor Frankenstein create a female companion for him. Although Victor begins the work, he fears that, like Eve, the female creature will bring evil upon humankind, and destroys his work.
