Wars are very expensive and there is ALWAYS a shortage. Liberty bonds were helpful to them so that they have more money for food, clothing, medical supplies, and more.

  • Generally when a war breaks , Countries issue bonds to its citizens so as to  finance the war. This was the case during WWI with the liberty bonds.

  • A Liberty Bond is a debt obligation issued by the U.S. Department Treasury together with Federal Reserve and regarded as a war bond,in a bid  to finance the U.S. participation in World War I.

  • Using this program, Americans are encouraged to loan the government money to help finance the war ( in terms of wartime military operations, medical aids, cloothings , war ships , food etc). And are promised that they  would receive their money with interest after some years.
