The conditions that lead to the rise od communism in Russia (*Which will become known as the Soviet Union for the next 80 years) were as followed:
The writings of Karl Marx; especially his book with Hienrick Engles The communist mannifesto.
The abolistion of Serfdom; abolished in 1861, created a new class of landless people whom the ideas of Marx would find many sympathizers. Once forced to work on the lands of nobility; now freed of their feudal bonds by Tsar Alexander II.
Finally the food shortages; harsh winters that caused famines , little arable land mix with the high food levis for the Tzars army during the first world war, making food even scarcer.
These conditions favored the rise of the Bolshevik and the Red Army. Thus creating the Soviet Union.
