This confuses me can I some help? Mary's mom gave her $100 to go shopping. She bought a shirt for $22.65 and a skirt $33.31. She had a coupon for 10 percent off her total purchase. How much change did she receive from the cashier?

Respuesta :

I believe the answer would be 49.64 because if you add them together 22.65+33.31 = 55.96 x .10 = 5.60 55.96-5.60 = $49.64

so Mary went over with 100 bucks, she spent 22.65 and then 33.31, so she has pay for 22.65 + 33.31 = 55.96, but low and behold, she has a coupon off her total purchase, so she only will have to pay for 55.96 - 10 = 45.96.

she goes over to the counter, hands the $100, 100 - 45.96 = 54.04 <- change.
