What other accomplishment in compromise did Henry clay have (in addition to the compromise tariff of 1833) during this antebellum era?

In addition to the compromise tariff of 1833, it allowed many raw materials used by American industry to be admitted completely free of duty.

Also it said that all duties should be paid in cash with no credit allowed to the importing business people.

As a result,South Carolina and the rest of the United States accepted the tariff of 1833 and a war between South Carolina army and the Union was avoided.Both sides received some benefit from the deal.

Henry Clay was also known as “The Great Compromiser” and had many skills in terms of negotiations and compromises.

Explanation:

Through his skills in negotiations and compromises he helped to hold his country during the first half of the 19th century. His compromises were related to achieve a balance in states rights as well as defend national interests.  

Henry Clay was also Secretary of State and he contributed to domestic policy and tried to achieve economic development in his diplomacy.
