Let the two numbers be x and y
As given, the difference of two numbers is 3, so

And their sum is 25, so
[tex]x+y=25[/tex] .....(2)
Putting x=3+y in equation (2)
[tex]3+y+y=25[/tex]
[tex]2y=22[/tex]
[tex]y=11[/tex]
As, x+y=25
[tex]x+11=25[/tex]
[tex]x=14[/tex]
So the two numbers are = 14 and 11
