American archeologist Hiram Bingham gets his first look at Machu Picchu, an ancient Inca settlement in Peru that is now one of the world's top tourist destinations.

The american historian Hiram Bingham, on July 24th, 1911. He was led by a group a natives of the peruvian region called "quechuas". He discovered it by accident, as he was looking for another place called Vitcos, thought to be the last refug of the incas, the natives that lived in that region.
