Respuesta :

Figurative language implies going beyond the meaning of words through the use of different techniques.

Allusion is when there´s a reference to another work of literature, person, character, etc. For example, "He was a real Romeo with the girls of the class".

Similie is when two things are compared using "like" or "as" to introduce the phrase. For example, "I´m as busy as a bee".

Personification is giving human characteristics to inanimate objects, concepts, animals. For example, "the moon greeted me last night".

Metaphor is when a statement is made, but it doesn´t literally make sense. This is the case we see in Kennedy´s line. The torch conveys the idea and the symbol of the power, the responsibility that was being passed to them stating the beginning of a new era, of a "new generation of Americans".
