A game animal is the animal who is hunted for sports and then that animal is consumed normally. The normal temperature of the game animal is about 101° Fahrenheit and most bacteria who cause food spoilage grows at 70-100° Fahrenheit.

Some bacteria can double its number within 20 minutes therefore to prevent the spoiling of meat the game animal must be cooled down quickly.

Removing game animal skin and feather is the first step in the cooling procedure of game animal. So field dressing should be quickly done to ensure rapid heat loss to prevent bacterial contamination and maintain the overall meat quality.  

Therefore to prevent spoilage of meat of game animal by bacterial contamination it is important to cool down the game animal quickly after it has been harvested.
