Identify and briefly explain ONE economic impact Islamic traders had on Sub-Saharan Africa.
One economic impact Islamic traders had on Sub-Saharan Africa is the creation of the Trans-Saharan trade route that brought tremendous wealth to the Swahili city states involved with this trade. The main export was gold, but ivory and slaves were often traded, too. City states experiencing this boom in trade were Ghana and Mali, which gained considerable wealth and became powerful kingdoms.
