was there an equal sign after it? if not it's simply just 6y+3 since we don't have another number to solve for y with. now if there is an equal sign with another number after, then first you would subtract 3 and then divide by six and you're left with y=(a number).

Hi there!

So, we know the 6y+3 is what we're trying to figure out!

Since 6 and y are multiplying. You're going to take the 6 instead and divide with 3.

6/3=2

Hope this helps and have a fantastic day!
