The difference between the Old & New may be difficult to find or understand. But when you're mentioning the Old Testament, you're thinking about the time Moses was around, Jerusalem, etc. This was around 400BC-1,000 Year. So that's pretty old if you ask me. The Old Testament includes God's powers and God's works, that looked toward the coming of Messiah. There's also a difference in prophecy, most of the Old Testament prophecies looked forward to the future and were unfulfilled at the time. Then for New Testaments, Messiah was later revealed as Jesus and New Testaments highlights the fulfillment of many of the Old Testament's prophecies. To sum this up, yes it's still the same but more of an evolved sort of thing to the Old Testament that fills the missing gap of information.
