Someone help me with this algebra 2 question

We know that if Two Complex Numbers (p + qi) and (a + bi) are said to be Equal then (p = a) and (q = b)
Given : (2x + 5) + (1 - y)i = -3 - 4i
⇒ 2x + 5 = -3
⇒ 2x = -3 - 5
⇒ 2x = -8
⇒ x = -4
Option 2 is the Answer
2x + 5 + i - yi = -3 - 4i
2x - yi = -8 - 5i
2x = -8 - 5i - yi
2x = -8 -i(5-y)
2(-4) = -8 -i(5-y)
0 = -i(5-y)
0 = 5 - y
-y = -5
y = 5
If x = -4, y is a real number.
