Part 1:This portion of the project is your chance to compare the health services you can access to the care available in other parts of the world. Start by researching health services in your community. Think about the doctor you visit when you are sick, the immunizations and screenings for vision and hearing you can get at school, a local drug store, or even the shopping mall. Also consider what happens when you have a major emergency and your ability to have care with just a 911 call away. Then research medical care in a third-world country. What happens when a person living in one of those countries becomes seriously ill or has a bad accident? How far must they travel to see a doctor or go to a hospital? Write a 250-word synopsis that compares and contrasts the two worlds.

Part 2: Your medical needs change as you pass through different periods of your life. As a child, you receive vaccinations to guard you against certain diseases, or you may visit an urgent care facility for a sprained ankle. Your medical needs as a teen may range from visiting a dermatologist for skin care to a trip to the emergency room for a sports-related injury. As an adult, health care needs may range from cholesterol screenings to back problems. In a minimum of 250 words, describe the different situations requiring professional health services for people of all ages such as primary, preventive, and emergency care.

Part 1:

There are many health services in my community, a few I can list are Wellspan Community Health Center, Womens Care Center, Normadie Ridge, Autumn House West and The Haven at Springwood. I know of these places, but I don't usually go to them, I've only been to Wellspan. Wellspan is a popular health service in my community and they're pretty common. The closest one to me is about two minutes away. There are also many different drugstores near me too. A few to list are CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid, Walgreens and Union Prescription Center. I personally use three of these places, CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid and Walgreens, these are all very close to me too. If i have a major emergency I can call 911 and they'll be there within minutes. A third world country I chose was Africa, most of us know Africa is a third world country. When someone gets injured or hurt in Africa, they usually have to heal or help themselves. They don't have a phone to dial 911 right away to get help. Sometimes they have their own remedies and medicine they make from scratch so if they do get hurt, they have something to help. They might have to travel for miles if they get seriously injured.

Part 2:

Primary health care situations may include check-ups, physicals, or anything that is regular and preferably required. It helps benefit your overall health. Preventive situations include things that will help prevent any future sicknesses or diseases. For example, shots. Flu shots, tetnis shots, chickenpox, HPV, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), etc. These are usually a reccomended thing, but if you don't want them you don't always have to get them unless you're at a risk. Emergency care is self explanitory. It's for if an emergency happens. Let's say you're cutting up vegetables in the kitchen to make your salad and you accidentally cut your palm open. If it's a little cut, it's not a big deal. Get some peroxide and a bandaid, clean it and cover it up to prevent infections, but if you manage to cut your whole palm open and it's bleeding badly and won't stop. You'll most likely need to go to the ER and get stitches. Therefore you either call an ambulance if it's that bad or drive yourself there. All of these are very important and should be taken very seriously.
