B) 37 miles per hour
C) 62 miles per hour
D) 43 miles per hour

Answered by JKismyhusbandbae: Divide the number of feet covered by the length of time it took. Then use appropriate factors to convert feet to miles and seconds to hours. (what it looks like in Unit form is linked in picture)

B) 37 miles per hour

there are 5280ft in 1 mile so x mi=5280x ft

there are 60seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour so 60*60=3600 seconds in an hour so y hr=3600y sec

we can set up a proportion

speed in ft/sec=speed in mi/hr

250ft/4.61sec=x mi/ y hr

250ft/4.61sec=5280x ft/3600y sec

now we can 'ignore' the units since the units are the same

we want to find x/y so multiply both sides by 3600 and divide both sides by 5280

(250*3600)/(4.61*5280)=x/y

36.975=x/y

so it's about 37mi/hr

answer is B
