The ages of four sisters are consecutive even integers. Two times the age of the youngest sister exceeds the oldest sister's age by 30 years. The equation 2x − (x + 6) = 30 models the age, x, of the youngest sister. What is the age of the oldest sister?

As per given in question, two times of youngest sister age exceeds the oldest sister age by 30 means

[tex]2x - 30 = (x+6)[/tex]

Simplifying the equation

[tex]2x - (x+6) = 30[/tex]

[tex]2x - x - 6 = 30[/tex]

[tex]x = 36[/tex]

So this is the age of youngest sister.

So, age of oldest sister will be [tex]x + 6 = 36 + 6 = 42[/tex]
