People can be opposed to outside money coming into state and local campaigns for a number of reasons. The biggest, however, is that they feel like the outside money does not represent the interests of the state. So, if outside money is getting involved, it artificially inflates the importance of any particular issue on the state instead of allowing the issue to reflect the importance that the issue has on the citizens of the state.
