There are three branches of government: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.
The Legislative writes and proposes the laws.
The Executive branch is the branch the president is in and can veto acts of congress (legislative branch), and commands the military.
Lastly the Judicial branch interprets the laws, in the judicial branch is the supreme court (the highest court in the land).
