Respuesta :
WWI started in 1914 between Austria-Hungary and Serbia, but eventually grew to involve 32 different countries.
The Central Powers were: Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, the Ottoman Empire, and Germany. The Allied were Britain, the U.S., France, Italy, and Russia.
After the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand and his wife in 1914 by a Serbian national, war was started. A domino effect of declaration of war began. A few days after the assassination, Germany declared war on Russia for supporting Serbia, then declared war on France. Countries began to take sides and form alliances.
The name was derived from the geographical position of the alliance's two founding members, Austria-Hungary and Germany, in central Europe.
The Ottoman Empire is the correct answer because the Central Powers, sometimes known as the Central Empires, was one of two major coalitions fighting in World War I (1914–18). It was known as the Quadruple Alliance because it included the Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary, Germany, and Bulgaria.
