Ancient Greek authors wrote some very influential things, some of which would go on to inspire Shakespeare's plays. Many Ancient Greek writings are still famous today- for example, The Iliad and The Odyssey, and The Republic by Plato. As or the modern world, Greek mythology has had some pretty heavy influence on pop culture recently. There are many series that rely greatly on Greek mythology; these include Pegasus by Kate O'Hearn, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by rick Riordian, and even A Court of Thorn and Roses by Sarah Maas.
