The purpose of U.S. Federal Government, as stated in the Preamble of the Consitution is "to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity". The Founding Fathers were determined to achieve this goal by establishing three main principles which are the basis of the United States Government:

  • Inherent rights: Rights every person living in America has;
  • Self Government: Government carried out by the people;
  • Separation of Powers: Branches of the Government with different powers and functions.
