Antebellum period took place in the South. Also called as the Deep South, most definitions of these region include the states of Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Mississipi and Louisiana. Geographically, this region lyes majorly on the riverfront areas of the Mississipi Delta, unto the frontier upland of Georgia and Alabama, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Western United States. These was the region of cotton plantations where slave labory was more expanded.
