Cervantes´ novel, Don Quixote, what many consider the first modern novel, is a beautiful reflection upon the craft of storytelling, translating, reading and thinking, amongst many other themes. In chapter 8 of this novel, Don Quixote, being influenced to the point of madness by old knight stories, spots a group of windmills at the distance, and, eager to engage in battle and gain recognition for his valor, he decides to fight them, believing them to be giants. Alas, he lost this battle, but indeed, his fame grew bigger through it.
