The farmers during the 1930s faced drastic agricultural loss and bankruptcy due to a fall in their yields. Similarly, migrants had to face displacement in the economy due to unemployment.  

Therefore, during the year 1930s, it was not easy to move to the west.

  • It would give new opportunities to some migrants but many who are unskilled had to face miserable life.
  • The migrants had to face many problems as many were displaced from farms.
  • The land conditions were not good in the west as many farmers had to sell their land to repay debts.
