1. Differentiate between acids and bases on the basis of their pH values. Give an example of each type. (written)

Check this for me- 2.

Part 1: Name two elements that have the same properties as calcium (Ca). (2 points)
Part 2: Determine the number of protons, electrons, and neutrons present in an atom of sodium (Na). Explain how you determined your answer using complete sentences.
My response:
Part 1: Potassium and Rubidium
Part 2: 11 electron 11 protons and 12 neutrons I found protons and electrons by looking at the atomic number and I found neutrons by subtracting the atomic number from the atomic mass.

For no. 1: Bases and Acids are opposite from each other.  An acid is any chemical substance that when it dissolves in water, it creates a solution with a hydrogen ion activity greater than water. Any substance with a pH less than 7.0 is an acid, and includes, for example,  sauerkraut or pickles.

A base is any chemical substance dissolves in water, creates a solution where hydrogen ion activity less than water.  Any substance with a pH greater than 7.0 is a base, and includes, for example, bleach or ammonia.

1. Your answer isn't correct. Two examples would be: strontium, magnesium.

2. This is correct! Well done! :)
