I would say that the strong, correct answer is A because it was definitly capable of helping people travel across country much faster than what most were doing during this time in America. The second strongest answer would be B because it gave jobs to many African Americans and immigrants (mostly asain immigrants).

It provided a commercial link between the East and the West.
