The central vacuole is the plant cell structure that stores large amounts of chemicals - including salts, minerals, proteins, and water - for the cell and helps the cell maintain its shape. A vacuole is actually a membrane bound organelle that is present in all plant and fungal cells present on our earth. Some animal, protist and bacterial cells also have vacuole.
