The correct answer is Cyrillic alphabet.
The Cyrillic alphabet was introduced into Russia in 988 AD. The Cyrillic script is named in honor of the Byzantine scholar and monk Cyril. Together with his brother Methodius, Cyril created the first Slavic writing system because they wanted to translate the Bible into the Slavic languages.
Because the Slavic languages were richer in sound then Greek, 43 letters were originally formed to represent them. The new, added letters were a combination of Greek and Hebrew ones.
The modern Cyrillic alphabets ( Russian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, Serbian) have been modernized from the original and some of the superfluous letters were removed.
The Cyrillic alphabet is currently used in more than 50 languages, some of them are : Russian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Belorussian, Kazakh, Macedonian, Turkmen, Ukrainian and Uzbek.
Writing system developed by the Slavic people of Eastern Europe, incorporating Roman and Greek characters as well as unique Slavic symbols is the Cyrillic alphabet.
