Based on the problem, this is what occurred:
d+e=c+3(s)-e

but you were asked to write the expression after the transaction occurred so, she had +e available in her checking account which canceled the -e cash she took out. These then canceled each other out which leaves you with d=c+3(s) as the answer post transaction.
