The ovarian follicle does not produce eggs, it is either an egg with one primary follicle layer called the primary follicle, or the mature egg with two follicle layers called the Graffian follicle. The ovaries produce ovum or eggs that then mature and develop into a blastocyst during the trip through the uterine tube and eventually develop into the embryo if fertilization occurs. If fertilization does not occur, menstruation will happen and the uterus lining will be shed.
