The City Beautiful movement was a movement that wanted to make the cities more beautiful. This was intended to be done by building new, interesting, modern, creative infrastructure, monuments, buildings, and replace the grayness and stale and bad aesthetics of the cities.
The people from the upper class would have been delighted with this, as they wanted to see the cities to be more beautiful, more attractive, and were also seeing that as an opportunity to get more profit.
The people from the lower classes though, would have argued that the huge amounts of money that are going to be spent on the beautification of the cities, can be used for increasing their wages and their working conditions.
The City Beautiful movement aimed to improve the aesthetic appeal of cities. This was supposed to be accomplished by constructing new, exciting, contemporary, creative infrastructures, landmarks, and buildings to restore the cities' grayness, stale, and unappealing aesthetics.
