Daily life in the cities of East Africa are highly influenced by overcrowding and Colonial/Western cultures and religions (especially Islam and Christianity), yet daily village life is often very traditional with fertile farming land and chiefs/other important elders leading societies. There is also a strong respect for tribal affiliations, tribal culture, and traditional tribal ways of life in villages.
