In a basketball game, Kyrie scored 5 less than twice as many as Steph. Combined the two scored 55 points. How many points did Kyrie and Steph score?

Let steph score be x
Then kyrie score is 2x-5
Sum of the two scores is 55
Therefore x+2x-5=55
3x-5=55
3x=60
x=20

Therefore steph score is 20
And kyrie score is 2(20)-5
40-5=35
