Answer: C. The Athenian democracy is considered to be the most developed, the most complete and the most perfect form of the democratic system of the ancient States. Historians tell that Pericles was an outstanding statesman and patriot of his country. He was famous as a wonderful speaker. Eloquence (ability to speak correctly and convincingly) was a very important quality for politics. There were no newspapers, no radio, no television. To achieve success, it was necessary to convince the National Assembly in its rightness.

Perikl gave all his strength and all the time taking care of Athens and their citizens. He was honest and unselfish.
