The state's income consists of many sources. The state has many natural resources that contribute to its income. The resources are: uranium, potassium salts, petroleum, natural gas, copper, gold, silver, zinc, lead and molybilenim. Another source is the manufacturing industries. They are: food products, transportation equipment, lumber, and stone and clay products. Income also comes from livestock such as sheep, crops like cotton, pecan, sorghum, corn, peanuts, beans, chilis, and lettuce. Also, a major income source is the military need for research and development. Many other service jobs are created because of this. New Mexico's state income source is big and many people work because of its natural resources, manufacturing industries, and military needs.
