President Roosevelt called December 7, 1941, “a date which will live in infamy.” Which of these definitions is the best meaning of the word “infamy”?

Respuesta :

When President Roosevelt said on December 7, 1941 that the date would live in "infamy," he meant that the day would be remembered as a dishonorable and disgraceful day in American history as a result of the large number of human losses because of the Pearl Harbor attacks. Hence, out of these words Roosevelt was comparing the attacks to have been done in such a manner that could be equated with "dishonor."

It would be World history. In the real document he crossed out world history and put infamy
