A move is one of the biggest life stressors that one can have and would certainly affect the mom's time and involvement in school. Mom is probably also feeling guilty that Reese cannot joing the rest of the family on the 2nd floor of the grandparents house due to the CP and being in a manual wheelchair - Reese would have to reside on the first floor.

The mother of Reese might be in stress because of the change of the school of her children and how they will adjust in the new school with Reese being on a wheelchair.

Another stressing thing might be the first floor , because Reese is dependent on wheelchair and she will have to struggle everyday in using staircase.

These stressors will effect her time as she will have to be there for Reese every time she wants to use the staircase as well as she will have to be involved with the new teachers of Reese for supporting her in her studies.

Therefore, these might be the stressors , besides divorce, that Reese’s mom might be experiencing.
