You should avoid "bias" if you want to make a credible, persuasive argument. Without a counter-argument your argument is one-sided, or biased, which is unfair and unconvincing because it does not fairly consider other points of view. Your ideas, if sound, should stand up to other perspectives if it is sound, logical thinking.
