Amenhotep IV (also known as Akhenaten) was the tenth pharaoh of the XVIII dynasty of Egypt and father of Tutankhamun.
This pharaoh is famous for having promoted radical transformations in Egyptian society, by eliminating the worship of Amun and the various Egyptian gods and creating a new cult that focused on the superiority of the god Aton (represented by the sun) above all others egyptian gods, that is, a monotheistic religion.
In this way, during his reign, the gods in animal and human forms were replaced by an abstract god, the Sun that illuminated the king and his family with his rays, and called himself the son of the god Aten.
