Once they thought they are powerful enough, the Japanese started to launch attacks on Russia, and then on China, marking the beginning of the Japanese imperialism. The island nation was very successful in its imperialist goals, managing to occupy parts of China, some Russia islands, Korea, large portion of Southeast Asia, and thousands of Pacific islands.
